Each year over 100 hams of Oklahoma work together to provide the route communications for the OKC Memorial Marathon. Clear your calendar on October 4th, 2020 and be a part of this great event.
Three times a year, in January, May, and September, CORA sponsors an “All Ham Dinner”. Currently, about 70 hams will get together at the Mid-Del Golden Corral. The next dinner is September 20th, 2020 at 6:30 pm.
Each year since 1974, CORA has operated the Oklahoma City hamfest called Ham Holiday. A hamfest is like a conference for amateur radio operators. Ours happens each year on the fourth weekend in July at the Oklahoma City Community College. This year, Ham Holiday will be held on July 24th and 25th, 2020.
Ham Holiday usually draws dozens of amateur radio vendors and about 140 flea market tables. National manufacturers like Icom, Yeasu, and West Mountain Radio attend to show off their latest wares. A number of radio vendors like D & L, and Associated Radio bring in all kinds of equipment to buy. The Coaxman and his crew come over to sell coax, antenna wire, and connections. Lots of other vendors bring in antennas, connectors, batteries and more.
Our hamfest is typically an ARRL sanctioned state or section event. We usually see our West Gulf Division Director, the Oklahoma Section manager, and more ARRL leaders.
