Many years ago, the amateur radio clubs in the Oklahoma City area started an event now known as the “All Ham Dinner.” This dinner brings about 70 hams together to share a meal and connect. This dinner is held on the third Thursday of January, the Second Thursday of May (to avoid Hamvention), and the Third Thursday of September at 6:00 p.m. Needless to say, all amateur radio operators, potential amateur radio operators, and their friends are invited to come.
The Next Dinner
The next All Ham Dinner will be held on May 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. We will meet at Pickles Steakhouse, Be careful. There are other Pickles locations, but this steakhouse and buffet has 30+ years of experience. It is formerly Western Sizzlin & Mackie McNear’s Steakhouse. No RSVP is required; arrive, order your meal/buffet, and join the event in the banquet room on the East end of the building.
Sponsoring Clubs
To share the load and the fun of hosting these dinners, CORA’s member clubs take turns organizing the events. Each club sponsors one about every two years. The hosting club selects the location and reserves a restaurant for the 70 attendees. Also, the host club presents and then facilitates a round-robin discussion among all clubs. Each club presents its recent activities or requests assistance at a future event.
The South Canadian Amateur Radio Society hosts this meeting. The sponsoring club handles logistics for the evening and serves as the emcee.
