Each year the Mid-Del Amateur Radio Club (W5MWC) performs the staging operations for the Midwest City Veterans Day Parade which is held annually on November 11th. Twenty to thirty amateur radio operators are required for this effort and it usually runs from 6 am to about noon. They manage five different staging areas and operate net control on the 444.000 MHz repeater. This is a great way to use your amateur radio talents to help the community, you will learn a lot (no experience required, they will provide training), and these events are always a lot of fun.

You don’t have to be a club member and all are welcome for this event. For more information and to sign up, please contact Leah Ohse by email at [email protected].
